How to Insert and Remove DRAFT Watermark

Watermarks indicate that a document is only a draft. In this article, we have shared about how to add a specific watermark using two different methods.

So, without further ado, let’s begin.

How to Insert and Remove DRAFT Watermark

Adding this watermark to Word can be done in two different ways. You can find more ways on videoforwhatsapp blog.

Below are some options to consider:

Watermarks using the Presets

Watermarks are pre-installed in Word and can be inserted with a few clicks.

Among these presets are the DRAFT watermark, the CONFIDENTIAL watermark, and the DO NOT COPY watermark.

If you wish to add any of these, especially the DRAFT watermark, follow these instructions:

  1. Navigate to the Design tab.
  2. You can select the watermark from the drop-down menu in the Page Background category.
  3. A drop-down menu will appear with all the available pre-maid watermarks. Take a look at these pre-made options. Choose the DRAFT option.

When you select the draft option, all the pages of your document will be watermarked with a gray “DRAFT” watermark with diagonal or horizontal text.

Custom Watermark

The simplest method for this task appears to be the first option.

You can easily apply the DRAFT watermark throughout your document with a few clicks.

Alternatively, you can manually insert the draft watermark into your Word document with a bit more work. You can also customize how the text looks on your pages with this option.

Let’s try it out:

  1. Click on the Design tab.
  2. You can display the Watermark drop-down menu by selecting the Watermark drop-down button in the Page Background category.
  3. Launch the Printed Watermark dialog box by clicking on the Custom Watermark option.
  4. To activate the controls under the Text watermark option, select it.
  5. Type DRAFT in the Text: field.

The DRAFT watermark will automatically appear on all the pages of your Word document when you click the apply button.

You can, however, change the Font type, Font color, or Font size to apply more settings.

Alternatively, you can choose a Diagonal or Horizontal layout.

For this task, there are two options. The next section will help you if you are on a Mac.

Adding Draft Watermark in Word for Mac users

The process of adding this watermark in Word for Windows differs slightly from the procedure for adding it in Word for Mac.

Launch your Mac version of Word to add a draft watermark. Click on the Design tab. You will then see the Insert Watermark dialog box once you click the Watermark button.

Click the Text option. Enter DRAFT into the text box. Use the available controls to make all the necessary changes. Click OK when you are done.

Remove Draft Watermark in Word

If your Word document has the Draft watermark, there are several ways to remove it. Here are two simple ways.

Option 1

In Word, select the Page Background category on the Design tab to remove the draft watermark.

Now, click on the Watermark button. You can remove the watermark from your document by selecting Remove Watermark from the drop-down menu.

Option 2

In addition, you can remove the watermark by launching the Printed Watermark dialog box. Simply follow the instructions.
