Osho, also known as Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, was an Indian spiritual teacher and philosopher who gained notoriety in the 1970s and 1980s for his controversial teachings and lifestyle. He was born in 1931 in Kuchwada, India, and became a professor of philosophy before turning to spirituality full-time.
Osho’s teachings emphasized meditation, mindfulness, and personal growth. He founded the Rajneesh movement, which attracted thousands of followers and established several communities around the world. However, the movement was also known for its controversial practices, including open sexuality and drug use, which led to conflict with authorities and media scrutiny.
In 1981, Osho and his followers moved to a ranch in Oregon, USA, where they established a commune. The community was later embroiled in legal battles and controversies, including a bioterror attack on a nearby town by some of its members.
Osho died in 1990, but his teachings continue to inspire followers around the world, with his books and lectures still widely available.

My meditation is simple. It does not require any complex practices. It is simple. It is singing. It is dancing. It is sitting silently.
